Summer 2012

Of the new summer flowers, I have been particularly pleased with the Cosmos and Echinacea which I grew from seed.  They started flowering in July and are still going strong now it is mid-September.  Some small sections of the lawn I left un-mown to provide a habitat for wildlife and the long grass has provided shelter for lots of froglets.  The Nemesia variety “Wisley Vanilla” has given a powerful vanilla scent to the whole garden and the late summer colours of pink, orange, red, purple, blue and yellow, have been fantastic this year after so much rain early on.
